Conference Objectives
The global economy is facing immediate and long-term challenge to ensure sustainability when providing quality services, such as manufacturing green IT, and promoting energy saving. Any topics related to service science field have actually embraced the viewpoint of sustainability in their discussion content. All service sectors, especially those in developing economies, such as Brazil, Mainland China, India, and Russia, are expected to acquire capability of taking strategic approaches to practice sustainable services. Such challenge requires all service sectors to encompass interdisciplinary perspectives for proposing a wide range of research agenda both in academia and industries. In light of this challenge, the 5th International Conference on Service Science and Innovation (ICSSI), held in Kaohsiung, Taiwan on May 29-31, 2013, aims to bring scholars, researchers, practitioners, and managers from various academic fields and industries for intellectual exchanges, research collaboration and professional development. This event features 8 different submission tracks inviting presentations of theoretical findings and practical case reports. Moreover, this event offers excellent networking opportunities to participants, with a wonderful taste of local culture and beautiful mountain and ocean scenery.
About ICSSI
ICSSI was first launched in 2009 by National Tsing Hua University, Taiwan, and has hosted more than a hundred of registered participants from 14 nations. In the next year, ICSSI 2010 was held in Beijing hosted by Beijing Academy of Science and Technology. Another success was made that year and the conference has drawn scholars worldwide to exchange research ideas and deepen the connections for future collaboration on service science studies. In 2011, a further step was taken to successfully merge ICSSI with ICSS (International Conference on Service Sciences), an annual academic event initiated by IBM and directed by Serviceology (SSME) Advisory and Steering Committee of China, resulting in the International Joint Conference on Service Sciences (IJCSS). IJCSS 2011, held in Taipei, Taiwan, and IJCSS 2012, held in Shanghai, China, hosted more attendees from all over the world. In 2013, ICSSI will separate from ICSS and be held in Kaohsiung, Taiwan.
